Sound Testing Training and Competence
It is the aim of Sound Test Ireland to provide the highest professional standards with regard to sound insulation testing. All of our Acoustic Consultants hold corporate membership of the Institute of Acoustics, and have academic qualification exceeding the requirements of Part E of the building regulations (2014).
In addition to this, as part of ACASITI (Acoustic Consultants Association of Sound Insulation Testers Ireland) have organised a course of training for their members with Sound Research Laboratory (SRL) in the UK titled ‘Advanced Sound Insulation Testing (ASIT)’. This course goes beyond sound insulation testing, providing a training module on practical problem solving and the detailing of remedial works as well as reviewing new and emerging standards.
It is Sound Test Ireland’s view that it is vital that sound insulation testers should be suitably qualified to provide the construction industry with high quality acoustic consultancy advice on foot of sound insulation test results. This will allow clients to carry out remedial work (if required) under the instruction of suitably qualified acoustic consultants. Sound Test Ireland Members as a part of ACASITI, have completed the ASIT course combined with educational training provided by the Institute of Acoustics and experience, which ensures that the construction sector receive a high standard of advice from formally qualified acoustic consultants.
