Sound Tests achieve Excellent Results!
We have just completed sound testing on a North Dublin Development for a very Reputable Builder / Developer. The measured sound test results on separating walls between houses was tested & calculated at between 68 and 72dB DnTw which is an incredible result similar to sound proof constructions between separate cinemas. The required level of airborne sound insulation to be achieved by a sound test is 53dB DnTw. Our Acoustic Consultant mentioned that he had some trouble with background noise in the receiving rooms because the walls were so good. Ted Dalton (Senior Acoustic Consultant) said “the walls were so good that it was unavoidable to have some background noise contribution even though the noise source for the sound test was turned up as high as it could physically go”, “These houses would be so good you probably wouldn’t even hear your neighbours partying” our Acoustic Consultant laughed. This type of sound test result for airborne sound insulation between walls is typically quite unheard of and the Builder in this case deserves an accolade, this is a real selling plus for these homes
